They deck their gods^[a] out with garments like humans—these gods of silver and gold and wood^{(A) 11} that cannot save themselves from rust and decay.^[b] When they have been dressed in purple robes,^{(B) 12} their faces are wiped because of the dust from the temple, which is thick upon them.^(C)
